YWLA hosted a special ceremony to present the inaugural "Ana Maria Paniagua Angel of Service Award" to YWLA senior Jin Song. This scholarship honors the memory of the late Mrs. Ana Maria Paniagua, a dedicated school volunteer and beloved community member who tragically lost her life in February 2026 while rendering aid to others.
The scholarship, established by the YWLA PTSO and the Paniagua family, recognizes students who exemplify Mrs. Paniagua’s spirit of selflessness, kindness, and commitment to community service.
Mrs. Paniagua was a cornerstone of the YWLA campus and a dedicated paraprofessional at Jefferson High School. This award ensures her legacy of service continues by supporting students who give back to their community. Jin Song was selected for the inaugural award in recognition of her over 1,000 hours of community service and her close collaboration with Mrs. Paniagua on past campus projects.
